Thanks for another great Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Event!

Our 2nd annual Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Event: a day of hands on restoration was helpd April 30th and was a great success. Over 130 volunteers worked at 9 sites across the watershed. Thanks to our volunteers and partners for another great event!

-Volunteer Work Party Sites-

Garlic Mustard Pull SW Lancaster Rd. & SW Stephenson St. - Garlic mustard pull along roadsides in the Arnold Creek neighborhood. Due to roadside working conditions, adults only please.

Deer Creek 9114 SW Trail Ct. - Ivy and Clematis removal and native planting at a streamside property along Deer Creek, an important headwater tributary to Tryon Creek.

Goff site 11000 SW Boones Ferry Rd. - Invasive species removal on a piece of streamside property along the main stem of Tryon Creek.

Lewis & Clark College SW Boones Ferry Rd. & SW Terwilliger Blvd. - Invasive species removal and mulching native plants on forested property just off the Lewis and Clark bike path.

Marshall Park SW 12th Dr. entrance to Marshall Park - Ivy removal as part of a larger project to close a demand trail along the edge of Tryon Creek in the forests of Marshall Park.

SW 4th Avenue 10744 SW 4th Ave. - Ivy removal and native planting at a forested property along the edge of Tryon Creek State Park near Lewis and Clark College.

St Nicholas Church wetlands 2210 SW Dolph Ct. - Invasive species removal and mulching native plants at a small wetland property in Tryon Creek’s upper watershed.

Tryon Creek State Park 11321 SW Terwilliger Blvd. - Ivy removal in the forests of Tryon Creek State Park.

Nettle Creek SW Boca Ratan Dr. & Atwater Rd., Lake Oswego, OR - Invasive species removal on a piece of streamside property along Nettle Creek, Lake Oswego’s largest tributary to Tryon Creek.

West Portland Park Natural Area SW 35th Ave. & SW Arnold St. - Ivy removal on a newly acquired Portland Parks/Metro property at the headwaters of Tryon Creek’s largest tributary, Arnold Creek.

 

 

 

The 2nd Annual Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Event was made possible through a grant from Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc. (SWNI).
